Focusing on innovative paths in the textile industry, Li Lingshen proposed three suggestions in his speech. First, promote the spirit of entrepreneurship by increasing R&D investment, enhancing the level of invention patent creation and contribution to international standards, and further shaping international discourse power; second, adopt a dual approach of breaking and establishing, changing management concepts and strategies, shifting from low-cost and low-price competition to focusing on quality and practicality, and promoting enterprises to climb to the high end of the value chain; third, strengthen system construction, solidify the industrial technology foundation such as standards, measurement, testing, and certification, and build a complete innovation chain from basic research, applied research to industrial promotion. He also mentioned that global industrial competition has shifted to competition in value chains and systems, requiring joint efforts from the government and industry associations to strengthen the formulation and implementation of mandatory standards to support technological innovation in enterprises.
"Chinese textile enterprises need to carefully layout in the global industrial changes and create increments in market consumption variables." Li Binhong pointed out in her keynote report titled "Insight into New Demand, Explore New Paths" that based on a comprehensive analysis of the consumption potential and industrial chain layout in developed countries and emerging markets, the development of the global textile and apparel supply chain shows trends such as supply chain diversification, nearshore manufacturing and re-regionalization, digitalization and intelligent manufacturing, customization and flexible production, sustainable development and social responsibility. In addition, industrial reshaping is driven by changes in consumer demand and the evolution of marketing channels, and enterprises need to build high-growth barriers by targeting effective demand segmentation in brand, category, and product matrix.
Regarding the development of new paths, Li Binhong shared insights from four aspects: building systematic product capabilities, grasping digital design capabilities, shaping resilient supply chains, and collaborating in ecological innovation. She proposed that enterprises need to enhance their textile product system development capabilities for diverse application scenarios and establish a structured innovation system competitive advantage; pay attention to the driving force of digital technology, empowering product design, production, and supply chain management with artificial intelligence technology. She mentioned that demand drives supply chain transformation, and fashion consumption trends will shift from being driven by a single brand to being jointly driven by the upstream and downstream of the creative industry chain, constructing a multidimensional collaborative innovation ecosystem of industry-wide fashion trends, technological innovation, and digital fashion, enhancing digital-assisted decision-making capabilities, which will prompt textile and apparel enterprises to shift from "supply-demand matching" business competition to a consumer-centered, flexible response to market conditions digital fashion creation system. She emphasized that in the face of an uncertain era, the industry needs to position its development pattern with a global perspective, gain insights into demand-driven product innovation, enhance endogenous motivation through digital empowerment, and achieve quality and efficiency through cross-border collaborative innovation.
One flower alone does not make spring; a hundred flowers in bloom fill the garden with spring. With the continuous development of a new round of technological revolution and industrial transformation, innovation in the Chinese textile industry requires upstream and downstream enterprises to work together to promote the deep integration of the industrial chain, capital chain, and talent chain, laying a solid foundation for building an advanced and efficient modern textile industry system.
